RECSAM 50th Anniversary Coffee Table Book

89 Special Projects 7 Third La main à la pâte Workshop at RECSAM (8 to 22 September 2006) Facilitated by Ms. Estelle Blanquet, Teacher Trainer, IUFM de Bourgogne, France and Mr. David Wilgenbus, Scientist & Project Manager, La main à la pâte. SEAMEO RECSAM also embarked on a project collaboration with French Academy of Sciences supported by Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation Malaysia, Ministry of Education France and Ministry of Education Malaysia in the publication of Teaching Science in School. As the teaching and learning materials posted at the La main à la pâte website are mostly written in French, the publication of the English edition would bridge the language gap and subsequently provide the much needed resources for direct use in the classroom; thus enhancing the capacity of teachers in their efforts to make learning science a stimulating and meaningful experience for their students. SEAMEO RECSAM endeavours to promote La main à la pâte inquiry based science education programme through training, workshops, publication of resources and research. To date, the incorporation of La main à la pâte approach in RECSAM’s training programmes could be traced in the in- country training, regular and customised courses. In addition, La main à la pâte approach is implemented in RECSAM’s partner schools such as SK Bayan Lepas, SK Kwang Hwa and SMK Tanjung Bunga. Sessions during the La main à la pâte workshops
