In addition to theMalaysian and SEAMEO representations in the Centre’s staf fi ng rank, there were resident specialists in various areas of science and mathematics education, brought about by the technical assistance programmes of Australia, France, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Denmark, Japan and USA to provide the much needed expertise in the training of teachers and teacher-educators. Funding support during the decade was in accordance with the funding scheme whereby the government of Malaysia bore the operational costs of the Centre and the SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) bore the Special Funds for academic concerns of the Centre.
