29 Looking Back 2 the Education Sector and Discuss the Legal and Regulatory Framework for E-Learning” co-organised by the Ministry of Education of Malaysia and ISESCO (Islamic Educational, Scienti fi c and Cultural Organization) in September 2016 During this period, RECSAMalso recorded an increase in the development and offering of regular courses, customised courses, in-country training courses, seminar-workshops, workshops, MTCP (Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme) and TCTP (Third Country Training Programme) that provided tremendous bene fi ts not only to educators from Southeast Asia region but also African, Colombo Plan, Asia Paci fi c and Paci fi c Island Forum (PIF) and Latin American countries. Someof the research studies andprojects carried out during this period include the following: • The Science and Mathematics Lesson Study Project for primary schools in Penang • The EUREKA Project, a study investigating the use of 3Dmultimedia animations in teaching and learning • Survey of “Teacher’s Use of the Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP) in Malaysian Secondary Schools” • One SEAMEO Basic Education (SEA-BES) SEAMEO Borderless School • Malaysian Science and Mathematics Teacher Quality Standards (MSTQS and MMTQS) with the Teachers’ Education Division, Ministry of Education of Malaysia
