48 • SEAMEO Basic Education Standards (SEA-BES): Workshop Series on the Development of the Common Core Regional Learning Standards (CCRLS) in Science and Mathematics • The “Malaysian/ UNESCO-IBE Strengthening STEM Curricula for Girls in Africa and Asia and the Paci fi c – Phase 1: Needs Assessment Workshop” was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, UNESCO- Malaysia Funds-In- Trust and UNESCO- International Bureau of Education (IBE) • SEAMEO RECSAM- University of Tsukuba Joint Seminar on “Searching for Quality Mathematics Curriculum Framework on the Era of Globalization” held at University of Tsukuba, Tokyo, Japan • The “Capacity Development Workshop for Strengthening STEM Curricula for Girls in Africa and Asia and the Paci fi c (Phase 1) under Malaysia-UNESCO Cooperation Programme MUCP)” was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, UNESCO-Malaysia Funds-In-Trust and UNESCO-International Bureau of Education (IBE) • RECSAM, for the fi rst time in partnership with the Association of Science and Mathematics Coaches of the Philippines (ASMaC Philippines) organised the “4 th International Conference on Education for Sustainable Development” • The consultative meeting on “Education and Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) Of fi cials to Elaborate a Modern Developmental Vision for the Education Sector and Discuss the Legal and Regulatory Framework for E-Learning” was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Malaysia and ISESCO (Islamic Educational, Scienti fi c and Cultural Organization) March 2016 • The tenth ‘Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists’ (SSYS) was held with the theme “Youth Innovation for Sustainability”. Other activities included public viewing, networking and forum entitled ‘Preparing Young Entrepreneurs for Innovative Invention Meeting Societal Needs for Sustainable Living’ • SEAMEO Basic Education Standards (SEA-BES): Regional Workshop on the Finalisation of the Common Core Regional Learning Standards (CCRLS) in Science and Mathematics • SEAMEO ‘Learning Science and Mathematics Together’ in the borderless world [LeSMaT (Borderless)]: Curriculum editing workshop in preparation for the OER to facilitate students’ co-curricular activities and exchange among networking schools, also the fi rst Champion School Awards competition in conjunction with the 7 th CoSMEd 2017 with theme ‘Humanising STEM education for Sustainable Development Goals in the 21 st century’ • RECSAM celebrated its 50 Golden Years 2016 2017
