Paper Submission Procedure

We welcome proposals for Full Papers, Brief Papers, Poster Presentations and Workshops based on the conference themes and tracks (Details of Workshop submission procedures are found in the Workshop link).
The paper submission process begins with the submission of an abstract by the author for review.
Once the abstracts have been accepted, the authors will then submit their papers (Full Paper or Brief Paper) for the peer review process.

Authors whose Full Paper, Brief Paper or Poster Abstract has been accepted after the review process and have registered and paid for the conference before the deadline will then be invited to do their presentation during the conference.  They will also have their papers included in the conference proceedings CD and their abstracts in the Book of Abstracts.
In addition Full Papers may be considered for publication in one of two books/monographs: “Transforming School Science Education in the 21st Century” and “Transforming School Mathematics Education in the 21st Century” that are tentatively scheduled to be published by March 2012, based on peer reviewers’ recommendations.

Abstracts
Abstracts (100 – 500 words) for Full Papers, Brief Papers and Poster Presentations are due by 1 June 2011.  Abstracts will be reviewed by the Programme Committee.  The abstracts will be reviewed on the basis of applicability to the conference theme and conference tracks, a broad appeal to conference participants and readability.  Abstracts will either be accepted, accepted with suggestion for changes, or rejected and an email notification of the acceptance of the abstract will be sent by 15 June 2011.

Full Paper
Full Papers are presented in parallel sessions.  They should generally be between 8 – 10 pages in length.  Full Papers will be reviewed by a panel of International Reviewers on the basis of  the significance of the paper, appropriateness for the conference, quality of the research (conceptual, theoretical, design, analysis) and the quality of writing (organization, clarity and style).  Please follow the guidelines provided in this template.
Full Papers must be submitted for review by 1 July 2011.  The outcome of the review process is that either the Full Paper is rejected, accepted with revisions or accepted with no revisions and additionally whether it is recommended for inclusion in the publication of a book/monograph.
Authors of accepted Full Papers who register and pay the conference fee by 28 September 2011 will have their Full Papers included in the CD of Conference Proceedings and the abstracts in the Conference Book of Abstracts.
In addition, Full Papers that are accepted and recommended for publication by the reviewers may be included in the book/monograph which is expected to be published in about March 2012.

Brief Paper
Brief Papers are presented in parallel sessions.  They should generally be between 3 – 5 pages in length.  Brief Papers are normally work in progress and will be reviewed by a panel of Reviewers on the basis of  the significance of the paper, appropriateness for the conference, quality of the research (conceptual, theoretical, design, analysis) and the quality of writing (organization, clarity and style) but with less rigour.  Please follow the guidelines provided in this template.
Brief Papers must be submitted for review by 1 July 2011.  The outcome of the review process is that either the Brief Paper is rejected, accepted with revisions or accepted with no revisions.
Authors of accepted Brief Papers who register and pay the conference fee by 28 September 2011 will have their Brief Papers included in the CD of Conference Proceedings and the abstracts in the Conference Book of Abstracts.
Brief Papers will not be considered for inclusion in the book/monograph that is expected to be published in March 2012.

Poster Presentations
Depending on the number of Posters submitted, Poster Presentations are done during one or more lunch breaks.  Poster presenters will be provided with table, chair and poster board only.   Other requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
