The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) was established on 30 November 1965 as a chartered international organization whose purpose is to promote cooperation in education, science and culture in the Southeast Asian region

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Tropical Biology focuses on Forest, Pest and Aquatic Biology. It helps develop experts in the region in identifying, prioritising, analysing and suggesting solutions or alternative approaches to critical biological problems in the region, especially those related to sustainable ecodevelopment of tropical ecosystems

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for History and Tradition is mandated to promote cooperation in the study of history and tradition among member countries, through research, human resource development, education and linkages

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology’s over-all goal is Education for All. Towards this end, it assists Member Countries in identifying common or unique problems and anticipated needs

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Science and Mathematics is mandated to provide the needs of Member Countries to provide the expertise in science, mathematics and technology education

Focusing on language teaching and learning disciplines, the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre upgrades the skills of language specialists and educators in the region

SEAMEO RETRAC directs its efforts on education management issues by undertaking innovative, relevant programs through research, training, consultancy, staff exchange and fostering of regional and international partnership, and engaging in other related activities within and outside the region

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education responds to needs related to policy and planning, administration and management of higher education

The SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Centre's mission is to assist SEAMEO Member Countries in identifying educational problems and finding alternative solutions for sustainable human resource development through dissemination and effective use of open learning and distance education

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture serves the agriculture and rural needs of the region through its human resource development programmes, research and extension activities

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts cultivates awareness and preservation of cultural heritage through archaeological and cultural activities and developing professional competence in the fields of archaeology and fine arts

The Regional Tropical Medicine and Public Health Network is composed of four regional Centres in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. The Central Office is located in Thailand. The Network’s over-all role is to promote health and to prevent and/or control tropical diseases and public health problems

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education’s activities focus on addressing national regional and local challenges in developing the competencies required to achieve and implement economic, industrial, business and labour market goals through vocational and technical education and training
