SEAMEO RECSAM stands for Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics. Established by SEAMEO in May 1967, SEAMEO RECSAM is committed to nurture and enhance the quality of science, mathematics and technology education in the SEAMEO Member Countries; namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.

Throughout the years, SEAMEO RECSAM has grown tremendously in every aspect. We have developed our physical structures and spawned influence in the education arena through its educational programmes in science and mathematics education. 

Mandated to improve science and mathematics in the SEAMEO region, SEAMEO RECSAM has now also captured the attention of educators from other parts of the world. This reflects the quality of educational innovations that the Centre undertakes. It is therefore serves as a strong impetus for the future of this beloved institution.

The Centre staff has consistently and conscientiously made inroads in developing educators who inspire their children to walk the road less travelled to move mountains even in adversities, to perhaps become a Nobel Laureate and benefit mankind.

SEAMEO RECSAM has been influential in pushing for science and mathematics education motivated by values, stimulated by change and inspired by development in the region. Its framework for education has been a catalyst for reforms in this Region will undertake in the time to come.
