Mr Pedro Montecilio Jr 2

Pedro Lucis Montecillo, Jr. holds a Complete Academic Requirements leading to the degree of Doctor of Education, Major in Educational Administration at NwSSU, and a Tan Yan Kee Scholar for his one graduate program, Master of Science in Mathematics Education at Ateneo De Manila University and he also finished his Master of Arts in Science Teaching Major in Mathematics at NwSSU, in the Philippines. He is currently connected to Southeast Asia Ministry of Education Organization- Regional Center for Science and Mathematics (SEAMEO RECSAM), Penang Malaysia as a Mathematics Education Specialist in the Training Programme Division. He trains mathematics teachers and educators both content, pedagogy, and innovation. His professional expertise spans across SEAMEO member countries where he supervised numerous courses organized by the center that focuses on inquiry based learning in mathematics, project based learning, problem based learning as one of the 21st century teaching and learning for enhancing creativity, innovation and higher order thinking skills. Served as consultant to some SEAMEO member private school and University in the development of their mathematics curriculum. Conducted In-Country training courses around and among SEAMEO countries. Presented papers locally and internationally pertaining to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Blended mode learning. Published journal articles related to Learning Science and Mathematics (LeSMAT) in a borderless world using technology and contributed in writing modules to PYDC group in Malaysia and Singaporean mathematics workbook/skill book. Presently, he was one of the co-writer (author) of the South East Asia Basic Education Standards- Common Core Regional Learning Standards (SEABES –CCRLS) in mathematics. Prior to his appointment as a seconded mathematics staff in SEAMEO RECSAM, he was a Clinical Supervisor scholar in SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics at Jogjakarta Indonesia and ex-alumni/scholar of iflex classes at SEAMEO INNOTECH, Philippines. He served different positions in the Department of Education, Region VIII, Calbayog City Division, for seventeen years (17) years as a classroom mathematics teacher and a University Lecturer and Secondary School Principal II. He was an outstanding skill book/workbook writer in mathematics. He is internationally affiliated to GeoGebra Community and Edmodo. His interest includes research in teaching pedagogy, blended learning, enhancing mathematical thinking, STEM/ STEAM education and classroom teaching and learning innovation to uplift mathematics achievement.
