2 RECSAM News Vol. 51 - No. 2 Virtual SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting (CDM 2020) Signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between RECSAM and Society for Research Development (SRD) Signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between RECSAM and Southeast Asian Institute of Educational Training, Inc., (SEAIETI), 29 June 2020 THE SEAMEO CENTRE DIRECTORS MEETING (CDM) 2020 was successfully held online on 15 & 16 July 2020 via WebEx. The meeting served not only served as a platform for SEAMEO Units to share updates on SEAMEO new policy directions and their achievements, operational concerned of each Centre, and the new SEAMEO Strategic Plan 2021-2030 but also to discuss how SEAMEO can expand its developmental programmes with new partners and strengthen the existing ones. The online meeting also featured a special session on Inter-Centre Collaboration (ICC) Programmes to promote SEAMEO EducationAgenda. The meeting was organised by SEAMEO Secretariat and warmly participated by the Directors and Senior Officers of the SEAMEO units. Representing RECSAM were Dr. Mariam Othman, Acting Centre Director and Dr. Ng Khar Thoe, Senior Specialist from Research & Development Division. During the session on Inter-Centre Collaboration (ICC) Programme on SEAMEO Seven Priority Areas, the Acting Centre Director presented a working paper on “Education 4.0: Issues, Challenges and Future Direction towards SEAMEO Priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Phase1)” to bid for the ICC Funding under the Associate Member Contribution scheme. RECSAM recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Society for Research Development (SRD), India. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the signing ceremony was virtually held at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang on 25 June 2020. The objective of this MoA signing ceremony aims to collaborate on joint research and educational projects; publishing high impact journals; training programmes; exchange of publications, academic materials, and other information; exchange of academic, researchers, technical and administrative staff; and to promote any other co-operation of mutual interest. The MoA was signed by the Centre Director, Dr. Suhaidah Tahir and Prof. Dr. R.C. Singh, President of Society for Research Development (SRD). Also present in the signing ceremony were the management and professional staff of RECSAM. RECSAM recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Southeast Asian Institute of Educational Training, Inc., (SEAIETI), Philippines to foster mutual understanding on collaboration and cooperation in the field of training and development in Science, Mathematics and Technology. The signing ceremony was held virtually at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang on 29 June 2020. The objective of this MoA is to collaborate on joint research and educational projects; training programmes; academic materials, and other information; use of its training facilities; and to promote any other co-operation of mutual interest. The MoA was signed by the Centre Director, Dr. Suhaidah Tahir and Mr. Eduardo M. Soliman, Managing Director of SEAIETI.
