RECSAM 50th Anniversary Coffee Table Book

115 RECSAM, as I see It 10 Mr. Ronaldo Master Teacher Tabaco National High School, Philippines Let me extend my warmest greetings and felicitations to SEAMEO RECSAM on its 50 th Anniversary! For almost fi ve years in my teaching profession, RECSAM became one of my partner organisations in providing quality education to my students, opportunity on my professional advancement, and has transformed me positively as a teacher. My participation as one of the scholars in the 2014 Regular Course honed my teaching skills since this activity equipped me with the latest trends in science teaching. RECSAM also helped me in promoting a culture of research especially among the Southeast Asian educators. Because of CoSMED, I was able to share the outputs of my research as well as the best practices I employed in teaching. Likewise, RECSAM has provided learning opportunities for my students beyond the four walls of the classroom through the Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists (SSYS). This is one of the memorable experiences for my students since they are able to showcase their research outputs to other students and teachers of Southeast Asia. Prof. Lea C. Garcia Coordinator Science Dept., University of the Philippines Los Banos Rural High School, Philippines I attended a workshop at SEAMEO RECSAM in 2012. In the workshop, I was exposed to inquiry- based teaching strategies and I gained a lot of inputs from the presentations of participating teachers across the member countries. My most nostalgic moment was during my presentation on inquiry-based game, around 10 teacher- participants interacted actively and excitedly. Based on these enriching experiences, I got to share the strategies with my colleagues in the science department. Congratulations to SEAMEO RECSAM on your 50 th Anniversary! Thank you very much for the wonderful experiences. I have become a more dynamic teacher now. I look forward to attending more training workshops in the future. Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha Teacher Hoang Dieu Primary School, Vietnam I was so lucky to have the opportunity to attend the training courses at SEAMEO RECSAM twice; the fi rst was in 2010 and the second was in 2015. When I was at SEAMEO RECSAM in 2010, I had dif fi culty in understanding the English language. It was the fi rst time that I was in a class together with some foreign classmates who used only English. Gradually, everything was getting easier. I was so happy to speak English every day. It was so great when I got more useful knowledge from the training. When I went back to my hometown, I applied the creative approaches learnt to share with my other fellow colleagues. I can still recall the sadness on the night before leaving SEAMEO RECSAM. I cried a lot because SEAMEO RECSAM is like my second home. On this 50 th Anniversary, I would like to convey my best wishes to all staffs in SEAMEO RECSAM. I wish you good health, happiness and success. I also wish SEAMEO RECSAM will continue to be more and more successful in its future undertakings. Last but not least, I would like to say that I LOVE SEAMEO RECSAM SO MUCH!
