116 Dr. Michelle G. Hatid-Guadamor Education Program Supervisor-I (Science) Schools Division Of fi ce-Sorsogon Department of Education, Region V, Philippines I truly appreciate the opportunities and experiences I had as SEAMEO-RECSAM science scholar in April 2010. Looking back, my heart simply swells with pride and gratitude of having the privilege to collaborate and being inspired by the warm hospitality of your dedicated, passionate and dynamic mentors and other academic and support staff. My educational journey with RECSAM, though short, was so enriching and inspiring. It taught me passion of hard work, the culture of excellence and a deep respect for academic and cultural diversity where I draw insights and inspiration to bring in synergy among people steeped in harmony and excellence. Thank you SEAMEO RECSAM. How I wish time and opportunity would allow me to be back again! Congratulations on your 50 th Anniversary of leadership and excellence in Science and Mathematics education! May you continue to build and strengthen the ASEAN community of educators and leaders! Mr. Phailath Sythong Deputy Head of Academic Of fi ce Savannakhet Teacher Training College, Lao PDR Many mathematics and science teachers from Lao PDR have participated in the training courses in SEAMEO RECSAM. These courses have impacted their teaching and learning positively. I was one of the Regular Courses 2017 participants who had gained vast knowledge and experiences from the training. When I went back to my college, I shared what I have learned in SEAMEO RECSAM with my colleagues. I also conducted a two-day workshop using some activities learned from the training for mathematics teachers in my college and some secondary schools. What impressed me the most while I was at RECSAM was the high commitment and dedication of all the lecturers in conducting the training. All participants were provided with good accommodation and hospitality by the RECSAM staffs. Finally, I would like to express my congratulations to SEAMEO RECSAM for being a part of the education development in the region and the world. On the occasion of its 50 th Anniversary, I highly hope that SEAMEO RECSAM will continue to extend its cooperative relations to more and more countries in the region. Mr. Hongkham Bouthduangthip Head of Academic Affair Luang Prabang Teacher Training College, Lao PDR During my training at RECSAM in 1996, I was very impressed to learn new techniques that teachers can apply in classrooms. For example, I had the chance to observe the teaching of mathematics in secondary schools in Malaysia apart from learning mathematics games and producing teaching materials for mathematics. Overall, the training I had in RECSAM was very memorable and impressive, especially the opportunity to view education in secondary schools and experience the progress of civilised country in Malaysia. On this occasion of SEAMEO RECSAM’s 50th Anniversary, I am proud to be given the opportunity to express my heartfelt feelings and gratitude for the knowledge and learning experiences. I am con fi dent that the progress and greatness of the Centre will continue to soar to greater heights in the development of human resources.
