39 Milestones 3 July 1980 • Third Five-Year Plan (July 1980 to June 1985) • Implementation of two important projects: » The RECSAM- German Project which began in September 1982 and ended in June 1985 provided assistance and support for in- country workshops/ seminars to relate to improvisation of science and mathematics teaching aids and apparatus as well as science laboratory management, with funding support from Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Federal Republic of Germany » The SEAMEO Pilot Project for Integrated Community-Based Human Resource Development funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) 1981 – 1982 • The fi nal phase of PKG for special course at RECSAM supported by UNDP in which the Government offered to cost-share with UNDP the extension of the project for a further two years • RECSAM started its fi rst customised training programmes for Indonesian Secondary School Teachers • The Government of Japan, through the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) provided the Centre with a grant for the purchase of equipment for its ETV Studio and helped to set up the fi rst computer lab at RECSAM 1980 1981 1983 1984 • Large scale research projects were conducted with funding from the Australian Government through its Australian International Development Assistance Bureau (AIDAB)
