75 Special Projects 7 Four main curriculum topics are identi fi ed for Learning Science and Mathematics Together (LeSMaT) incorporating transdisciplinary approaches in the OER/ODL modules. These modules include: (i) ‘Climate Awareness and Disaster Risk Reduction/Preparedness Education’ (CADRRED); (ii) ‘Conservation and Wise Use of Resources’ (ConWUR); (iii) ‘Sustainable Energy for All’ (SE4ALL); as well as (iv) ‘Telecare and Healthy Lifestyle’ (TeleHeal). These themes aim at addressing the SEAMEO Education Agenda (2015 - 2035) particularly Priority Area No.3 (Resiliency in the face of emergencies), Priority Area No.5 (Revitalising Teacher Education) and Priority Area No.7 (Adopting a 21 st century curriculum). Various student-centred teaching and learning approaches were introduced in the OER as well as ODL modules. These include values-based Project- based Activities (PBA), Problem-based Learning (PBL), Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Inquiry-based Learning (IBL) integrating Science / Technology / Environmental Education / Economics / Engineering / Arts / Mathematics / Social Science (STEEEAMS) approaches supported by interactive digital tools and Blended Learning (BL) platforms. This project is spearheaded by RECSAM in joint collaboration with SEAMEO Secretariat, Ministries of Education in the SEAMEO region, SEAMOLEC, SEAMEO QITEP in Science, SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics, SEAMEO INNOTECH, various institutions of higher learning (UMS, USM, UiTM, IPGM, IPG IlmuKhas, WOU, OUM); other educational organisations include Penang State Education Department, Sathya Sai Academy, Zeta Academy; as well as professional teacher associations in UK and New Zealand.
