84 Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) Besides mandated programmes such as Regular Courses and Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists (SSYS), SEAMEO RECSAM collaborates with other institutions to continuously uplift the quality of Science and Mathematics education in the region and beyond. Some of the programmes conducted are Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) which were fi rst initiated by the former Centre Director, Dr. Azian T.S. Abdullah. In 2008, SEAMEO RECSAM fi rst signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Colombo Plan Secretariat and Economic Planning Unit (EPU) under the Prime Minister’s Department. MTCP was initially managed by EPU since its inception before it was transferred to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Malaysia from 1 January 2010 onwards. The Third Country Training Programmes “Secondary Science and Mathematics Teacher Educators’ Training for African Countries” (TCTP JICA) and “Professional Development Programme for Science and Mathematics Educators” (TCTP Colombo) were fi rst implemented Cultural Performance by Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) participants from African Countries A workshop session conducted for TCTP Primary Science and Mathematics Teachers Educators from African countries in 2013 TCTP Training of Trainers Professional Programme for Secondary Science and Mathematics Education for Colombo Plan Countries participants with funding support from MTCP and Colombo Plan Secretariat held in 2012
